Edinburgh Old Town Development Trust through the Word Bank has launched Donate a Book to support reading and general literacy across the city.
Thanks to those in the run up to Scottish Book Week 2020 (16-22 November) who ‘donated’ full sets of the Evergreen – four beautifully designed volumes with a decorative book band. We are now looking towards our next goal of more donations leading up to Christmas.

Donated copies (sold at a special price) started to be delivered to residents, local schools and community groups during Book Week and again in the run up to Christmas 2020.
Lockdown has sadly meant that potential readers are less able to buy books – in difficult times, reading as a pastime and source of learning needs to be encouraged. As Winter approaches, it’s just the time to coorie down with a good book!
Our goals:
– 100 sets of the Evergreen to be distributed during Scottish Book Week
– 100 more the week before Christmas
– Donated sets of the Evergreen can be purchased for just £27
– Single copies of the Evergreen are available for £12
